There are many ways
for a child to express themselves.

Speech is just one of them.

Every child is capable of learning when given the right tools and support for the natural development of speech, language, and communication.

The Logolab Approach

At Logolab, we value the unique abilities of every child. Every treatment begins with building trust and relationships. We respect the child's play and interests, creating a safe and supportive environment for learning speech, language, and communication. We carefully assess your child's needs and abilities and collaborate with you to choose the most effective strategies.

Collaboration with Parents

We believe in close cooperation between the child, parents, and speech therapist.

Who Our Services Are For

Children needing early support

Early support helps families of babies and children up to 3 years old who face developmental challenges or are at risk of delays. Learn more about the program "It Takes Two to Talk".

Children who cannot speak or speak unreliably

We support children who express themselves in different ways using PODD communication books, Grid for iPad, sign language, and other forms of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).

Children who express themselves through echolalia (Gestalt language processing)

Echolalia refers to learned phrases and sentences that a child repeats exactly as they heard them. These sentences are the way the child expresses themselves and represent the first level of gestalt language development. The goal of treatment is flexible language use.

Children with underdeveloped executive functions

We provide support for children where differences in perception, attention, working memory, and regulation affect language processing, learning, and communication. Through dynamic assessment and with the help of a detailed parent questionnaire, we identify which executive functions need to be stimulated.

In addition to speech therapy treatments, at Logolab we also conduct comprehensive assessment and treatments for sensory-motor integration. Sensory-motor skills are important for the development of speech, language, and communication, because a stable body, good coordination, and organized sensory systems enable the child to focus, regulate, and effectively use language and communication skills.

Our Process, Step by Step

1

First Step

A short phone or Zoom meeting (20 minutes) without the child. We discuss your concerns and needs. If you feel we are the right choice, we schedule an assessment or program enrollment.

2

Assessment

Over several sessions, we get to know your child and evaluate their speech, language, and communication skills. Based on this, we create a customized plan for your child.

3

Consultation

We discuss the assessment results, your child's strengths, and areas for development. The goal is to help you understand how your child learns and how important your support is.

4

Treatment

Treatments are conducted online or in person at the Logolab center.

5

Our Goal

Our goal is for every child to develop their speech, language, and communication skills, and for you to become the best partner for your child in that process.

The story behind the name

Bubi, Rubi, and Loti - the heart of Logolab

Our name Logolab combines logo (word, speech or reason) and Labrador - in honor of our Labradors who were part of every story about communication development.

A special place in the heart of Logolab will forever be occupied by our Labradors Bubi, Rubi, and Loti, who were the inspiration for the very name of our center. For years, they were invaluable collaborators in animal-assisted therapy. With their unconditional love, patience, and warmth, they helped numerous children relax, open up, and progress in ways that we as therapists sometimes cannot achieve. The memory of them and everything they gave to the children they worked with remains forever part of our story.
