Nina Krotić — Speech and Language Therapist

Founder of Logolab. I pay special attention to the development of executive functions and different ways of processing language in babies and children.

Founder of Logolab

I am Nina Krotić — a wife, mother, founder of Logolab, graduate speech and language therapist (defectologist–surdologist), and graduate linguist in general linguistics. I pay special attention to the development of executive functions and different ways of processing language in babies and children.

I founded Logolab on the belief that babies and children acquire speech and language through authentic and meaningful communication with an adult who recognizes the child's strengths, follows the child's interests, respects the child's play, and provides language models aligned with the child's way of acquiring and processing language.

Professional Experience

I completed my internship and gained my first five years of professional experience in a Belgrade institution, where I encountered methods that did not align with my values and principles. Since 2009, I have been a regular professional associate at The International School of Belgrade, where I conduct assessments of executive functions, speech and language status, and speech and language therapy in both Serbian and English.

The children I work with often have diverse communication needs and are frequently learning to speak more than one language. They are my greatest inspiration and motivation to continuously learn and explore new knowledge to help them reach their full potential. Thanks to the exceptional learning support team at the school and their professionalism, I have always ensured that my professional development meets their high standards.

Personal Experience

Beyond my education and additional training, the most significant experience I gained was when I became a mother. My pregnancy was high-risk, with complications that endangered both my baby and me. After a difficult delivery, my baby required time in an incubator, and challenges such as hypertonia in the limbs and hypotonia in the trunk and neck led us to a developmental counseling center.

Our experience with what was called early intervention was exhausting and overwhelming. The process felt routine and lacked empathy from the professionals involved. Instead of support and explanations, we were often met with a lack of information. Every visit to the counseling center or specialist was difficult, and our frustration grew. This is when I truly understood the importance of having the right support and compassion — not just for the child but for the parents as well. These experiences motivated me to create a place where every parent and child receives the attention, respect, and support they deserve.
